I couldn't believe it when one of the teachers I coach came into my office and said she had signed up and listened to my presentation at the Sped Summit without knowing I was presenting. She said that, even though she doesn't want anyone to struggle, it really validated her to know that I struggled as a beginning teacher too.
What I want you to know is that we ALL struggle at some point. Especially when it comes to knowing how to manage the adults who work in your special education department.
So today I thought I'd share my story about when I started teaching and how tough it was to "be a boss." I wish I could go back and tell that young girl that all she needed to do was accept the role, learn some techniques and change her . mindset from boss to leader.
In this episode, I share with you the 3 tips I have to help you change your mindset and become a better leader for your staff.
1) set up your standard operating procedures
2) clearly communicate
3) evaluate and adjust
Give it a listen!!
